What are the best remedies or products for clear, healthy skin?

Question by Jenni05: Clear Skin?
What are the best remedies or products for clear, healthy skin? I’ve tried lots of products, including ProActive, but they’ve only made my skin worse. Because of that, I believe I have sensitive skin. However, sensitive skin products won’t keep my skin clear either! My face seems to do best when I don’t wash it at all. I wear makeup of course, usually to cover my complexsion. I try to rinse my face with water at night and wash it in the morning. Can anyone help?

use a gentle cleanser such as olay moisturizing face wash or cetaphil. It wont hurt your skin at all yet will better remove the make up,which you shoudl wash off before bed, then water

Also you can try the natural skincare products recommended at http://NaturallyCureAcne.org. Most(if not all) products featured at Naturally Cure Acne website works well and doesn’t have side effects.

Try different Neutrogena products, I think that they work very good, just read what they are for, then pick what is right for you.

if you have serious complexion issues, then you need to stop wearing makeup. i know it’s hard, because you’re embarrassed, but it’s probably making the problem worse. makeup clogs your pores and creates more oils, and that creates blemishes. i used to wear makeup every day too, but since i stopped 3-4 years ago, it’s really helped. plus, you’ll realize that makeup just makes you look weird! ;)

try washing it once a day with a mild soap, like dove. that’s my personal favorite. it rinses clean and doesn’t leave your skin dry. then try every 2-3 days exfoliating using a scrub. i use the st. ives apricot scrub for acne. it gets rid of dry skin that also clogs pores, and gets acne medicine deep down into the skin. beyond that, i would avoid applying lotion (more extra oils) or anything alcohol-based like clearasil. if you need extra acne fighters, try the oxy cream. it’s good for spot-fighting the nasty ones!

i’ve always had really bad acne, and this is the closest i’ve been to having a clear face. i hope it helps you!

well water works for me. if i don’t drink at least 6-8 glasses
a day, i break out 2 days later. try lots of water and fruits if you can. wash with a gentle cleaner at least 4 times a day. it might help also if you watch what you eat to see if it affects your skin in any way

I had the same problem. You should find a Clinique counter at a Dillards or Belks or major department store near you. They can determine the type of skin you have (dry/oily/combination) and get you the right 3 step plan. There is a soap to wash with, a toner to remove the impurities and a lotion to replenish the moisture in your skin. The nice thing about Clinique is if the one you get is too harsh, they will replace it with a more sensitive one free of charge, no matter how much you have used. They also have stuff that helps get rid of the redness and no, it doesn’t just go away with time, unless you are willing to wait a REALLY LONG TIME. The stuff I bought for my daughter has a type of salicylic acid in it that helped in like 24 hours. Major difference for a 14 year old.

What your putting on your face can actually make it worse. I love Arbonne’s Clear Advantage system. It cleared me up and I have stayed clear since. It’s all natural, botanically based, hypoallergenic, etc. There are no dyes, no chemical fragrances, no animal products, no mineral oil, just good natural stuff!

Honestly, the best thing I have used was pure Aloe. I have had acne since I was 9 or 11…and it was horrible. Just get an Aloe plant and use the sap on the inside. It causes the redness to subside and allows for healing. Aloe was used religiously by the Egyptians for beautiful skin, and it still works! I have been using it for the past few weeks and noticed a great improvement. Change your diet and incorporate lots of water aswell. Good luck.

WELL I’VE ALWAYS BEEN TOLD I HAVE GREAT SKIN WHICH IS WEIRD CUZ MY OLDER SISTER AND MOM DON’T!!! SO I’LL TELL YOU WHAT I DO…FIRST I WASH MY FACE WITH WARM WATER THEN I TURN THE WATER TO REALLY COLD…DOING IT FIRST WITH WARM WATER OPENS YOUR PORE AND CLEAN THEM THEN RINSING WITH COLD WATER CLOSES THEM SO WHEN YOU PUT ON YOUR MAKE-UP IT DOESN’T CLOG YOUR PORES. THEN AFTER ALL THAT I DAB MY FACE DRY DON’T SCRUB YOUR FACE DRY JUST DAB SO ITS STILL MOIST THEN GET SOME ALOE VERA LOTION OR MOISTURIZER ABOUT A NICKEL SIZE AND RUB IT ON IN A CIRCULAR MOTION UNTIL IT IS FULLY RUBBED IN….THEN APPLY YOUR COVER UP CONCEALER IN A CIRCULAR MOTION AS WELL AND THEN APPLY WHAT ELSE YOU WANT AS NORMAL.. IT MAY SOUND LIKE IT DOESN’T WORK BUT IT’S BEEN WORKING FOR ME FOR ABOUT 6 YRS.

P.S. MAKE SURE THE SOAP YOU USE TO WASH YOUR FACE FIRST IS UNSCENTED AND THE LOTION OR MOISTURIZER IS ALOE VERA, THINK OF IT AS MEDICINE FOR YOUR FACE. LOL GOOD LUCK
